Mike’s first ever newspaper article was published in The Sunderland Echo in December, 1981, and before long he found a ready market for his work in other titles.
Mike’s first taste of freelancing for national newspapers occurred in 1985, when he worked with a staff writer from The Mail on Sunday on an exposé concerning an unscrupulous medical marketing company.
Since then, Mike has written for numerous papers both in the UK and abroad.
Mike has received considerable publicity in the press due to his fight against the brain disorder narcolepsy and, of course, his fascination with the supernatural.
Mike has also spoken out publicly against the practise of culling seagulls, something which he is passionately opposed to. This has brought him both praise and condemnation in copious measures, mostly the former as opposed to the latter.
Mike continues to pen articles and features for both local and national papers whenever the opportunity arises.
